Spider dropped out of art school in 1990 to become a musician. He purchased a drum machine and a 4-track home studio. He soon gained local success under the alias MC Spider. In 1991 he started Powerman 5000. Spider is the younger brother of musician Rob Zombie. Spider has made cameo appearances in Cody McCarver's "Red Flag" music video and Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl". Since 1998, Spider has been married to Dominique Zar. He is the owner of the record label he began in 2001 with DreamWorks Records, Megatronic Records. Megatronic was re-launched in 2004 as an independent label. Spider has played himself on film in Headbangers Ball (2003), Girl (1998) and Ozzfest (1997). Spider has recently begun work on a horror movie in the style of cops.
